Fall LEGO® + Labrary & Homeschool Meetup start next week

LEGO® + Labrary returns next week for September, October, and November! It is a STEM program for kids to explore, and stations will be set up for children to select which activities they would like to try, including LEGO® bricks, circuits, and more. Grades K – 6 and their families. On Tuesdays from 3 – 5 p.m.

Brookneal: First Tuesdays (Sept. 1, Oct. 6, Nov. 3)

Rustburg: Second Tuesdays (Sept. 8, Oct. 13, Nov. 10)

Altavista: Third Tuesdays (Sept. 15, Nov. 17; no program Oct. 20)

Timbrook: Fourth Tuesdays (Sept. 22, Oct. 27, Nov. 24)

Stay past the early bird hour and continue exploring. For grades K – 6 and their families. From 2 – 3 p.m. with the same dates and locations as LEGO® + Labrary.

Our fall session of Storytime will start next week, running from Aug. 31 to Nov. 12. Story readings will happen at the beginning and may include books, songs, rhymes, scarves, and more. Craft and play stations will be available after the reading. Geared for ages 3 – 5, and the whole family is welcome, too. No registration is required. Join us at the Timbrook Park Pavilion each Thursday through Oct. 29 for Storytime Picnic! We will read the selected book on and off throughout the event, do themed crafts, and play yard games. Bring a snack (optional) and enjoy the day! Swing by anytime between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Geared toward ages 0 – 5 and their families.

Babygarten Summer Session II continues this week and will run through Sept. 10 (no classes on Monday, Sept. 7). Babygarten storytimes involve board books, songs, and rhymes that help babies with language acquisition and pre-literacy skills. This is a great opportunity to read, play, and have fun together! These free storytimes are open to children ages 0 – 23 months and their caregivers. Registration through CivicRec is required and is now open.
