Library closing hours for July 4th holiday

All CCPLS locations will be closed on Friday, July 3, and Saturday, July 4, for Independence Day. We will reopen with our regular hours on Monday, July 6. All of our digital services will continue to be available 24/7. Have a safe and fun holiday!

We will be at our Rustburg and Timbrook locations next week for Dino-Sized Storytime Shows + After-Show Exploration Stations! The interactive storytime shows will be 2 – 2:30 p.m., and the after-show exploration stations, which may include crafts, science experiments, LEGOs, and more, will be available 2:30 – 3:30 p.m. You are welcome to come only for the exploration stations if that is more your jam. Geared for ages 3 – 10 years. No registration is required.

CCPLS is partnering with Red Hill’s Archaeology Team to explore a real dig site! All ages are welcome to join us. We’ll have a station for our younger friends to dig for “artifacts” and play in some sand. Our older friends are welcome to head to the archaeological work stations to learn more about how to shovel, scrape, and sift dirt from an active dig site. This event will be Friday, July 10, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Patrick Henry’s Red Hill, which is located at 1250 Red Hill Road, Brookneal.

We want to celebrate you and your little ones! Join us for a baby “block” party honoring our Babygarten babies and Tot Time tots. There will be adorable decorations, light refreshments, and of course, blocks! Families from all libraries are invited to this sweet community celebration. For ages 0 – 3 years and their families.

This free event will be at Timbrook Library (Lower Level) on Wednesday, July 15, and you can drop in any time between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.
