Join us for Dino-Sized Storytime at all library locations this week

Meet some wild dino characters in interactive storytime shows! These will include silly book readings, costumes, songs, and laugh-out-loud fun! The after-show exploration stations may include crafts, science experiments, LEGOs, and more. Come to one or more shows across all four libraries. You are also welcome to come only for the exploration stations if that is more your jam. Geared for ages 3 – 10 years. No registration is required.

This week, we’ll be at all four of our locations. The Storytime Show will be 2 – 2:30 p.m., and the After-Show will be 2:30 – 3:30 p.m. on the following days:

Rustburg: Monday, June 22

Timbrook: Tuesday, June 23

Brookneal: Wednesday, June 24

Altavista: Thursday, June 25

These free storytimes are open to children ages 0 – 23 months and their caregivers and involve board books, songs, and rhymes that help babies with language acquisition and pre-literacy skills. Mark your calendar for Red Hill Archaeology Dig Day on Friday, July 10! CCPLS is partnering with Red Hill’s Archaeology Team to explore a real dig site. All ages are welcome to join us. We’ll have a station for our younger friends to dig for “artifacts” and play in some sand. Our older friends are welcome to head to the archaeological work stations to learn more about how to shovel, scrape, and sift dirt from an active dig site. This event will be 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Patrick Henry’s Red Hill, which is located at 1250 Red Hill Road, Brookneal.
