Houseplant swap event at Brookneal this Tuesday

Want to add new houseplants to your collection? Come by Patrick Henry Memorial Library in Brookneal this Tuesday, April 28, 3:30 – 5 p.m., and learn how to propagate your plants. Galactic Gathering will be at Timbrook Library (Lower Level) next Monday, May 4, 6 – 8 p.m. Dress as your favorite galactic adventurer while enjoying crafts, out-of-this-world activities, and much more for an evening of legendary fun. For ages 18+.

The next Roots Club will be at Rustburg Library on Thursday, May 7, 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Deborah Smith, director of Jones Memorial Library, will introduce and talk about their ongoing Memory and Digitization Lab project. Babygarten continues this week at Timbrook, Altavista, and Brookneal and will run through May 14. It will return to Rustburg next week, on Monday, May 4, and will run through May 18 there. These free storytimes involve board books, songs, and rhymes that help babies with language acquisition and pre-literacy skills. Open to children ages 0 – 23 months and their caregivers. This is the last week of Storytime this spring. Story readings will happen at the beginning and may include books, songs, rhymes, instruments, and more. Craft and play stations will be available after the reading. Geared for ages 3 – 5. It will be held at our Altavista, Timbrook, and Brookneal locations on the following days:

Altavista: Monday, April 27, 1 – 2 p.m.

Timbrook: Tuesday, April 28, 1 – 2 p.m.

Brookneal: Thursday, April 30, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.

We will read the selected book on and off throughout the event, do a themed craft, and play yard games.
