Drop off Valentines for Seniors by Feb. 7

We extended the deadline for Valentines for Seniors! We are accepting valentines through this Saturday, Feb. 7. Drop valentines off at any CCPLS branch during our regular business hours. These cards will be given to residents of local assisted living facilities. All ages are invited to participate. Please do not seal envelopes.

LEGO® + Labrary returns this Tuesday! It’s a STEM program for kids to explore. Stations will be set up for children to select which activities they would like to try, including LEGO® bricks, circuits, and more. For grades K – 6 and their families. On Tuesdays from 3 to 5 p.m. in February, March, and April.

This Friday, Feb. 6, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.! Enchanted Trail is an immersive, outdoor story experience for families to enjoy on the Timbrook Park trails. A small trail in the woods behind Timbrook Library is transformed with decorations and a story, and families are given a scavenger hunt to enjoy as they walk the trail and read the story together. Geared toward pre-school and elementary students and their families.

Kids, teens, and families are invited to stop by Timbrook Library (Lower Level) and create special valentines with us! A story will be read periodically throughout the event, and all materials will be provided for two art projects inspired by the book. On Saturday, Feb. 14, 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Slip into your comfiest pajamas and slippers for a cozy romantasy-inspired slumber party full of magic, mischief, and delight. We will have stations set up throughout the library for activities like making friendship bracelets, photo opportunities, a Book Chat style area to talk about books read (spoilers ahead!), playing MASH, a scavenger hunt, printmaking, and food. For ages 18+.

Save the date! Our annual Fort Night for children, teens, and families will be on Friday, Feb. 27, 6:30 – 8 p.m., at our Rustburg location. Each team will have their own space in the library to build and defend their fort. We will award a trophy at the end of the night to the most ridiculously awesome fort and best team spirit!
